It is located between the Upper Chenab Canal and the Marala-Ravi Canal of the Marala Headworks project. Demographically, the town has a Union Council which is one of largest council of Sialkot, having a population almost 20 thousand which cover six neighbouring villages. Many residents work on farms; others work abroad and serve in industry and government. The Sialkot Tanneries Zone is nearby. Sahowala is composed with two high schools, one for girls and other for boys, having Muslim Commercial Bank and almost 12 mosques. It is a quiet town with people of different religions, sects, castes and political views.
